Dr. Yi Luo studied mine ventilation with particular interest in ventilation and air conditioning in deep and hot mine for his M.S. degree from University of Idaho.
In 1989, he earned his Ph.D. degree from West Virginia University specializing on prediction and control of mine subsidence. Currently, he is a associate professor at the Department of Mining Engineering of West Virginia University. From 1990 on, he has obtained and successfully conducted various government and industry research projects. Dr. Luo is also listed in 1998-99 edition of Strathmore's Who's Who. He is the co-winner of R&D 100 Awards 2004 and 2005, by R & D Magazine for his research on the project "In-Mine Validation of Method Determining Characteristics of Coal Seam Using Electomagnetic Transmission." |
